Royal Oak 8756

29 mm | Hours, minutes | Calibre 2062

In 1978, Audemars Piguet introduced the first diamond-set Royal Oak watches. These were based on existing models whose references were then modified. The first ladies' Royal Oak, Reference 8638, thus became Model 8756 when the rim of its bezel was finely set with 80 tiny diamonds.

Twelve of these watches left the Audemars Piguet workshops in Le Brassus in 1978, followed the next year by 28 and in 1980 by an additional 23. In all, the 63 Royal Oak 8756 watches all have a yellow gold case. Their small Royal Oak numbers belong to the 8638 series.
