In 1969, Audemars Piguet signed an exclusive contract with Luigi Stumpo, an Italian jeweller who had just perfected the gemsetting of wristwatch hands.
This exclusive expertise remained an Audemars Piguet speciality for several decades. It was used in 1995 on Royal Oak Model 14949, as well as on its derived version Model 14950.
