In 1992, Audemars Piguet unveiled a one-of-a-kind model to mark the creation of the Audemars Piguet Foundation. This Royal Oak is in platinum. It features an openworked Calibre 2120, topped by an engraved openworked dial depicting an oak tree in 14-carat gold. It was auctioned off for 800,000 French francs, the first funds to be made available to the Foundation, which has been working ever since to support sustainable development and education projects.
Reference 14811 was subsequently interpreted in different versions and materials. In 1993, it was fitted with a dial depicting a Royal Oak battleship, a nod to the collection's maritime origins.
In 1998, ten white gold models featured a dial depicting Africa, with an emerald in the location of Nigeria. These watches were made for the retailer Danatec – at the same time as Models 15052 and 15053.
